Our story
The Harris'
Sarah and Tater Harris met in 2010 on a summer day in Lima, Peru. Not long after, they made their way to Tater’s home state of Alabama, where they quickly fell in love with Orange Beach—its beautiful coastline, great food, and welcoming community.
Five years later, they got married and spent nearly a decade traveling and living across the country. From the Caribbean to cities like Chicago, Ann Arbor, Northern California, Chattanooga, and beyond, their journey gave them a deep appreciation for adventure and creating memorable experiences.
In 2016, everything changed when they bought their first Polaris Slingshot. The freedom, excitement, and attention it brought made one thing clear—they wanted to share that experience with others. That idea became Gulf Coast Rental Co.
Today, Gulf Coast Rental Co. offers Slingshots, Jeep Wranglers, LSVs, and beach and baby gear to visitors and locals in Orange Beach. Their goal is simple: provide an easy, affordable way to upgrade your vacation and create a five-star experience you won’t forget.
The idea to offer beach and baby equipment rentals came later. While visiting Hawaii, Sarah and Tater noticed how easy it was for tourists to rent everything they needed for a stress-free trip. They realized that back home in Orange Beach, there was a gap—no single place offering high-quality beach and baby gear at affordable prices.
That insight led them to expand Gulf Coast Rental Co., making it easier for families and visitors to enjoy their vacation without the hassle of bringing or buying extra equipment.
They also introduced overflow parking to help both tourists and locals who need convenient, reliable parking during busy seasons and throughout the year.
Today, Sarah, Tater, and their son Jay are proud to serve the Orange Beach community by providing high-quality rentals and a true five-star experience. They look forward to helping visitors and locals alike make the most of their time on the Gulf Coast for years to come.
They also added overflow parking for all of the tourist and locals alike that are in need of additional parking in the season as well as the off season.
